ALL RISE. Montgomery, Alabama
A sunken ship lay on its side, a victim of the rising tide
The river like the sky remains the ebb and flow of time
Once horse drawn loads of cotton bales are now the past in ghostly tales
Spun endlessly upon the gin that history left behind

The chatter of a bustling quay the revolution industry
Set sail upon those muddy banks to find the ocean waves
Only the keystones now remain, no statues, nor a single name
The emptiness speaks louder than the vain attempts of man

These waters rise when needs must be to flood the streets with fresh debris
The rains shall have the final word whenever it desires
Our thoughts return as Heaven roars to simpler things and Natures laws
And what was once infernos rage seem now just petty fires
